FAQ

Do I need to register for the challenge?

No, registration is not required for this challenge. All that is required is that participants begin recording their daily activity minutes starting on September 29 and keep record through October 5. Then to submit their data, participants need to submit their data by completing the webform linked below.

What type of activity counts towards this challenge?

Any activity that gets your body up and moving! This can include traditional physical activity such as running, walking, swimming, yoga, and strength training, but also activities such as golf, gardening, and cleaning. The rule of thumb to follow is, if the activity gets you moving and at least slightly elevates your heart rate, it can count. It is also not required to record what type of activity you are participating in, you only need to record the number of minutes.

What if I don't record each day?

The goal of the challenge is to reach a total of 300 movement minutes by the end of the day on October 5. As long as you reach or surpass that goal and you submit your data before October 8, your data entry will be accepted.

Who can participate in this challenge?

University Faculty and Staff are the only individuals who can participate in this challenge. Graduate students are encouraged to participate in the student challenge which can be located under student competitions on the Homecoming page. Partners and Spouses of university employees are encouraged to participate with employees but will not be able to submit any data.
