Group Challenge: Stress-Free Strides: A Movement Challenge for Mind and Body

Registration Dates: Monday, March 31-Friday, April 11, 2025

Challenge Dates: Monday April 14-Sunday, May 11, 2025

Stress is an inevitable part of life, but how we respond to it can make a world of difference. One powerful way to manage stress is through physical activity. When we engage in movement, whether it's a brisk walk, a dance session, or a full-body workout, our bodies release endorphins—our natural "feel-good" hormones. These endorphins help to reduce pain, improve mood, and promote relaxation, which can significantly counteract the effects of stress. This is why our second group challenge of 2025 is all about finding intentional ways to move your body to help reduce your stress!

Challenge Details:

During this 4-week challenge participants will be tasked with tracking their daily movement activity minutes! Whether you find movement through traditional physical activity exercise such as walking, yoga, strength training, or dance, or more non-traditional activities such as gardening/landscaping, cleaning, or playing in the yard with children or pets, this movement challenge is for you!

*New* HealthierU will now use the Stridekick platform for all movement challenges! Participants will use the Stridekick app or website to link their wearable fitness devices or manually submit their data. Participants are still required to register (find the link below) to gain access to the private challenge link. To learn more about Stridekick, click here

There will no longer be a maximum cut off for activity minutes with this challenge. We do ask that participants are honest with their data submission.

How do you know if something should count towards your movement minutes if it's a non-traditional activity? If the activity elevates your heart rate and requires you to get up a move your body for a minimum of 10 minutes, you can count it!

How does data submission work? When a participant registers for the challenge, they will receive a private link to the challenge that connects them to the Stridekick platform (either website or app). First time Stridekick users will need to create a profile. Once the profile is created they will be prompted to join the challenge and compete either as an individual or on a team ( see the Teams section below for more details). Once a participant has joined the challenge, they will either automatically upload their movement minutes by syncing their wearable fitness device or they can manually upload their data. Please note, if you choose to sync your wearable device you will not have the option to manually add your data.

Teams

We are bringing teams back for this challenge! Once a participant joins the challenge on the Stridekick app there will be an option to create or join a team. If you select to join a team and you do not see your team name listed, you can either create the team or wait until someone else creates the team and join at a later time ( you will just want to make sure you add yourself in before the challenge begins to connect your data submission to your teams total).

There are no limits to the number of team members a team can have as the data is averaged out.
