Hello and Happy May! 

Here are the exciting events and programs occurring in the month of May!  

1.) Financial Fitness: Strengthening Your Money Skills: HealthierU, in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union, is excited to offer our first financial well-being challenge! This four-week Financial Well-being Challenge will run from June 2–29, 2025. This dynamic program is designed to help faculty and staff build greater financial confidence, outsmart common pitfalls, and develop strong, lasting money habits. 2.) EAP hosts mental health event at Sheldon: The Employee Assistance Program is hosting a “Exploring Mental Health Through Art” event at the Sheldon Museum of Art tomorrow from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.. To learn more about this event, click here.  

3.) Make the Most of Summer – Schedule Your Annuals: Summer is a great time for faculty and staff to catch up on annual check-ups and preventive care at the University Health Center. With more open schedules and a quieter campus, it’s the perfect opportunity to prioritize your well-being. To learn more, click here: Faculty & Staff Services | University Health Center | Nebraska 

Did you know? Adult dependents of faculty and staff are also eligible to receive care at the University Health Center. Schedule their appointments alongside yours for added convenience. 

4.) Horticulture Club Plant Sale: The UNL Horticultural Club is hosting their annual Spring Plant Sale at the Teaching Greenhouse on May 1 and 2, 2025 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.. To learn more about the sale click here.  

5.) Lincoln Half Marathon and Marathon: Best of luck to all the participants who are competing in this year’s Lincoln Half Marathon and Marathon taking place on Sunday. If you are participating, please tag us on social media ( Instagram @UNLHealthierU) and we will share your race photos on our story!  

6.) Stridekick App: Have you downloaded the Stridekick movement app yet?!? HealthierU will be using the Stridekick platform for all movement challenges and programs moving forward. If you missed the opportunity to participate in our current movement challenge, we are encouraging employees to download Stridekick and join one of the platform’s community challenges! If you have any questions about Stridekick, please don’t hesitate to contact us! 

7.) WellPower Movement; May Mental Wellbeing Challenge: Join the WellPower Movement's May Mental Wellbeing Challenge to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month! From today until May 31, earn virtual badges and a chance at gift cards by logging miles for mental wellbeing activities like meditation, volunteering, gratitude journaling, reading, and group exercises.
