Homecoming week is a cherished tradition at many schools, serving as a time for alumni, students, faculty, and staff to come together and celebrate their shared experiences. It’s a week filled with spirit, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging that transcends generations. While students often take the spotlight during this festive week, the contributions of faculty and staff are equally vital in creating an unforgettable experience. Here’s a look at how their involvement enhances Homecoming celebrations and fosters community spirit.

This year’s Homecoming week was a blast! It’s a vibrant tradition that unites alumni, faculty, staff, and students in their love for UNL. The week was packed with spirited activities that encouraged everyone to get involved.

Congratulations to this year's movement challenge winners: Alyssa Havlovic, Bhanu Dangi, Bryan Kinnan, and Skyler Beard! Each of them completed an impressive 300 minutes of movement throughout Homecoming week through a variety of activities. I encourage everyone to keep prioritizing daily movement and staying active—it was inspiring to see so many participants take on the challenge!

The office decorating contest was another exciting activity that engaged many offices. This year, the CAST (Center for Academic Success) office won the contest! A total of twenty-six offices participated, showcasing incredible creativity. The goal was to create events that everyone on campus could join in, and it was a resounding success! Overall, the involvement of faculty and staff during Homecoming week truly enriches the experience for everyone. Their dedication helps to foster a strong sense of community and belonging that makes Homecoming a memorable event for all.
