Sustainability is the balance between the environment, equity, and economy. This involves the social goal of people to co-exist on Earth while supporting health and vitality among communities. The main idea is to fulfill our present needs while also looking out for future generations to come. There are so many ways to contribute to keeping our Earth clean and comfortable, as well as not wasting resources.
A great start to getting involved is by participating in Sustainability Bingo! This is put on by The Office of Sustainability. The bingo sheet contains many activities to reach the goals for sustainability on campus. Once you complete a goal on the bingo sheet you can mark it off and keep track of all the things you have done. There are prizes for completing each tier of the bingo sheet, and the prizes are designed to help you continue to build sustainability habits on campus.
An example is to go paperless and think of a way you can reduce the amount of printing you do. A lot of the challenges within this bingo card revolve around reducing waste and going green. Turning these challenges into daily routines can make a significant impact on our community. This is a fun way to stay mindful of the way our actions affect our world and future generations to come.
