As we approach mid-September, the abundance of produce found at local farmers markets, community gardens, or possibly even backyard plants are growing strong. Here are some fruits and veggies to keep a lookout for as they are in-season and ready for picking:
- Summer Squash
- Bell Peppers
- Tomatoes
- Eggplant
- Sweet Corn
- Strawberries
- Melons
To learn more about recipes, proper storage and more nutritional information on these produce items and to find out what else is currently in-season check out the Seasonal Produce Articles from UNL Food through Nebraska Extension.
