FAQ
Flu Shot Clinic Questions
Are flu shots covered by insurance?
This is dependent on your individualized medical insurance providers. Most insurance covers some portion of your annual flu shots, but it is recommended to check in with your insurance provider before scheduling your appointment. Employees who are covered under UNL BCBS medical insurance and completed the Health Risk Assessment are eligible for enhanced coverage, and this flu shot should be coded as in-network meaning low or $0 copays. If you did not complete the HRA, you may have to pay copays and admin fees. For further information, please contact the University Benefits Team at benefits@unl.edu or call 402-472-2600.
If available, are walk-ins available for participants?
Yes, we can accept walk-ins. They will have to understand, though, that since we will be running their insurance after-the-fact, it could deny and full payment will be due or there may be a copay due that they will be billed for.
What is the cancelation process in case someone is unable to make their reservation?
None whatsoever - they just don't show
If someone does not want to or is unable to use insurance to cover their shot, how is this handled?
Check or exact cash or credit card number. The nurses do not carry cash/change and cannot take a payment at clinic. The vaccination payment can be processed back at the office and a receipt can be emailed.
Biometric Screening Clinic Questions
What is included in the screening?
Blood Pressure, BMI, and the Framingham Risk Assessment which includes cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. The test calculates LDL, TC/HDL ratio, LDL/HDL ratio and non-HDL cholesterol.
What is the cost of the test?
The cost of the test is $55 and insurance does not cover this service.
Do you need an order from a doctor to register for the screening?
No, an rx is not needed and anyone can participate.
If someone makes a reservation and pays for the service and has to cancel, is there a refund option?
Absolutely - 100% of it.
How long is the turnaround process for getting results? And how will it be communicated to the participant?
Results are within minutes and the nurse will speak with each individual.
If someone does not register ahead of time, can they pay in-person for the service? What payment options are available?
Yes, check or exact cash or credit card information. The nurses do not carry cash/change.
