Week-Long Events:

  • LPS Donation Drive ( August 15-25th)- Help us support LPS teachers, who also support our CEHS students, as they prepare for another school year! Donation bins can be found at CEHS department offices (list of donation items can be found on the donation bins). Donations will be given to Lincoln High School and Hartley Elementary School. Monday, August 21st

  • Capital Jazz Society Presents Monday Night Big Band, 6:00- 9:30 p.m., Storm Cellar ( 3233 1/2 S. 13th St. Lincoln, NE) Join in on some Monday night jazz at the Storm Cellar. This event will offer live music and food will be available for purchase from local food trucks. 
  • Lindsey Stirling Live at Pinewood Bowl Theater- 6:00 p.m., Pinewood Bowl Theater ( 3201 S Coddington Ave, Lincoln, NE 68522) Lindsey Stirling is an electronic violinist, dancer, and artist who has humbly become one of the 21st century’s most innovative stars. Her groundbreaking vision has gained millions of adoring fans worldwide, four Billboard chart-topping albums, and two Billboard Music Awards, including Top Dance/Electronic Album for her third studio release, Brave Enough. Tuesday, August 22nd

  • Tuesday Table, 5:30-6:30 p.m., South Gate United Methodist Church (3500 Pioneers Blvd, Lincoln, NE) Bring and share your excess harvested garden goods and see what others have to offer! 
  • Lincoln Saltdogs vs Kansas City Monarchs, 7:05 p.m., Haymarket Park (403 Line Drive Circle, Lincoln, NE 68508) It's Triple Play Tuesday at Haymarket Park! Donate 3 non-perishable items for the Food Back of Lincoln and receive a FREE general admission ticket! To learn more click here

Wednesday, August 23rd

  • *Meal Kit Monday Registration Deadline*- Today is the registration deadline to order a meal kit for the August 28th meal kits. This round the options are Chicken and Dumpling Soup, Sheetpan Meatloaf, and Vegan Soy-glazed Tofu and Summer Squash! Meal kits are $25, with 4 servings per kit at $6.25/serving.   • Navy Day at the Nebraska History Museum- 9:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m., Nebraska History Museum (131 Centennial Mall North, Lincoln, NE) Visit the Museum any time during the day and see displays from the Navy, featuring the Navy History and Heritage Command and the Navy Meteorology and Oceanography Command. You can also learn more about the historic USS Constitution, see photographs of the ship, a sample sleeping hammock used by sailors, “infamous” ship biscuits, and samples of wood used to build the ship!   • Wine Down Wednesday, 4:00-8:00 p.m., The Mill Coffee & Bistro ( 2021 Transformation Dr #1350, Lincoln, NE 68508), The Mill Coffee & Bistro is hosting Wine Down Wednesday all summer long! Receive $1 off any glass of wine or $5 off the featured bottle of wine.
  • Hub Farmers Market, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Hub Cafe ( Union Plaza, N 21st St. Lincoln NE) Stop by to check out the farmers market, live music, and more! Drinks and food will be available for purchase from Hub Cafe.

  • Tea Time Friday, 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Kawasaki Reading Room 302, Stop by for fresh tea and snacks!
  • Downtown 101- 5:00- 7:00 p.m., 206 N 13th st., Lincoln, NE, Downtown Lincoln has teamed up with some of their favorite Downtown businesses to welcome you to Downtown Lincoln! Each booth will be packed with unique goodies, info, activities, and our local businesses can't wait to show off what they've got. This event is completely free and open to the public! Come for the live band courtesy of Lincoln Arts Council & Lincoln Calling, photo booth, free t-shirts, and more!   • Zoo Dun It?- 5:30-9:00 p.m., Lincoln Children Zoo (1222 S 27th St, Lincoln, NE) Join Lincoln-Lancaster County Crime Stoppers for the first-ever Zoo Dun It event. Do you have the investigative skills to follow the clues and solve the mystery to determine, Zoo Dun It? Hosted at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo in Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 25, 2023, from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Tickets include beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, plus food items served while you explore the zoo and investigate the crime.   • Guardians of Freedom Airshow, 9:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Lincoln Airpark (NW 38th St, Lincoln, NE) The Guardians of Freedom Airshow, presented by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, the Nebraska Military Department, the 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base and the Lincoln Airport Authority, will be headlined by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and includes other first-class performers, exhibits, stunts, displays and activities.
